An enterprising Dundee FC fan is hoping to cash in on the club’s recent success by auctioning the corner flag from the Dark Blues’ promotion-winning match.
The flag, which was plucked from the Dens Park turf during the pitch invasion that followed the team’s 2-1 win over Dumbarton, has appeared on eBay.
Seller etch_be describes the item as: “6ft tall corner flag with a green pole and red flag on top. Can be seen on Dundee FC website videos and pictures. Has spike on bottom to be inserted into grass.”
It adds: “Also modelled by Sky Sports Patrick Barclay.”
Two pictures on the auction show the flag being held aloft during the pitch invasion and also held by the Sky Sports pundit.
Dundee FC’s stadium manager Jim Thomson said: “I’m surprised that the goal posts didn’t walk out of the door, quite frankly it was that kind of day. There’s two missing, but one’s turned up on eBay.
“We lost two corner flags and we gained Premiership status, so we’re not really going to get too excited by it.”

It seems fans are taking a similar view, with bidding sitting at a modest £41 on Tuesday morning.
Jim said: “That’s not bad for for a corner flag that you can get four for a tenner.
“Somebody has obviously decided to take it as a souvenir, then got fed up of it by the evening and put it on eBay to make a few quid.
“Somebody texted me and said do you realise one of your corner flags is on eBay and it’s also in the possession of Patrick Barclay. These ones are very old-school so, we’ll buy some of the new, modern ones for the SPL.”
Thousands of fans ran on to the pitch following Dundee’s win, which will see them play in Scotland’s top flight next season.
Goals from Christian Nade and Peter MacDonald secured promotion for Paul Hartley’s side in front of a full-house at Dens Park on Saturday.
The auction is due to end on Thursday evening.
