A swimmer reported missing off the coast of St Andrews has been found safe and well. The Coastguard and Police Scotland launched a search after the alarm was raised at 4.30pm and a helicopter was drafted in. However a Coastguard spokesman confirmed the swimmer, who had been in the water at East Sands, was back on dry land.
