A tiny orphaned red squirrel is recovering at a wildlife centre after being found in woodland near Inverness.
Named Dizzee, the four to five-week-old kit was spotted on the forest floor by a member of the public walking in Daviot Woods and taken to the Scottish SPCA’s rescue and rehoming centre at Inshes, Inverness.
The squirrel was transferred to the charity’s National Wildlife Rescue Centre at Fishcross, near Alloa.
Assistant manager Colin Liddell said: “Dizzee was only 90g when she arrived in our care but she’s come on leaps and bounds over the past three weeks and has now almost doubled in size.”
