Man charged with road traffic offences after gritter footage posted online

Police have charged a man after footage was posted online apparently showing an 18-tonne gritter passing through a red light at a busy Dundee junction.
Officers confirmed the 38-year-old had been charged with road traffic offences in connection with the alleged incident.
The offences are alleged to have been committed at the junction of Fintry Road and Fountainbleau Drive near the Morrisons supermarket on January 11.
Inspector Grant Edward, head of road policing in Tayside, said: “A 38-year-old male driver has been charged by police in respect of road traffic offences.
“Tayside Division take this kind of alleged activity very seriously.
“We are still looking to speak to any motorists who may have seen the alleged incident and we’d also urge the driver of the car who filmed the alleged incident to come forward.”
