Ella Morrison, who gave 35 years’ service to the Girl Guides, was born in 1924 and lived her early childhood at Dunnottar.
Her parents then moved to Dubton, near Montrose.
It was during this period that she saw the royal train stop near her parents’ house and witnessed the Queen Mother get out of the train to walk her corgis.
She began her education aged six and had a three mile walk to school.
During the Second World War Mrs Morrison fell asleep on Aberdeen beach and found she had slept right through an air raid.
Her first job was working in Whimsters factory in Montrose before she moved to Perth Royal Infirmary, where she worked in medical records.
She retired from the hospital aged 59.
She married her dancing partner Jimmy Morrison in the early 1960s.
The pair regularly attended dances at the Lovat Hotel in Perth and also liked going to football matches.
Mrs Morrison was a regular worshipper at St Paul’s Church in Perth and she and her husband also enjoyed outdoor bowling.
She loved her bicycle, which she called Bruno, and also had a love of horses and dogs.
Mrs Morrison gave 35 years’ service to the Girl Guides, having spent four years at Montrose, 24 years at St Paul’s Church and the last seven years at Oakbank, Perth.
On giving up Guiding, she received the Girl Guide Good Service Brooch from the County Commissioner and gifts from the Guides.
