Mica Paris announced for movie-themed Glamis Prom

The organisers of Glamis Prom have announced soul singer Mica Paris will perform at this summer’s event.

Paris will make up part of a stellar cast on the lawn of Glamis Castle, near Dundee, to mark the return of the Tayside open-air concert on July 16.

Other acts on the bill include Richard and Adam, who are currently riding high in the classical album charts, as well as former X-Factor star Melanie Masson and local talent Norman Bowman from Arbroath.

Glamis Prom spokesman Peter Ferguson said: “It’s a real coup to bring Richard and Adam to perform at Glamis.

“They’ve performed for The Queen recently so they will be accustomed to playing in a regal setting.

“We are thrilled and excited in equal measure about the programme for this year’s show and there may be a few surprise appearances throughout the evening.”

Paris added: “I am delighted to be performing at Glamis Prom this summer.

“It will be a pleasure to sing in such a beautiful and historical setting. I’ve heard so much about the famous Glamis Prom and I’m looking forward to sharing the stage with the other guest stars and such a fine orchestra.

“All we need now is the sun to shine and we have the makings of a perfect summer evening filled with some great songs from the big screen.”

Conducting the orchestra on the evening will be Marc McBride.

Entitled, A Summer’s Evening at the Movies, attendees will be treated to a medley of cinema classics.
