Runaway swan ruffles feathers during motorway stand-off
ByKirsty McIntosh
Animal rescue experts were called in to pluck a cygnet from a busy motorway.
Police officers called in the SSPCA to capture the “aggressive” bird when it decided to swan about on the central reservation of the M90, near the Glenfarg junction, at 10.30am on Friday.
Officers feared the bird would stray onto the road and be killed by the fast-moving traffic.
Don Wilson, of the SSPCA, attended the scene from Milnathort and arrived at around an hour after police received the first calls.
Police officers partially closed the road to allow the Senior Inspector a single chance to rescue the bird.
