Cowdenbeath have injury concerns over three key players ahead of tomorrow’s trip to face league leaders Hearts.
Midfielder Colin Marshall has definitely been ruled out of the game at Tynecastle with a hamstring injury and could face two to three weeks on the sidelines, while Darren Brownlie will be assessed after picking up a foot injury.
Declan Hughes was due to train last night but he too will be a doubt as he is nursing a back problem.
Manager Jimmy Nicholl will be hoping to have as many players as possible at his disposal as he tries to take his team out of the Championship’s bottom two, and admitted last night that his side’s inconsistency has been frustrating to say the least.
“That’s what’s been happening week to week,” he said.
“We were delighted with them at Dumbarton so we picked the same team for last week against Alloa and you are just asking them for consistency in performance.
“Show me the same kind of determination you showed against Dumbarton, but it just wasn’t there and that’s what really annoys me.
“I’m just looking week to week at the moment.
“If it was every now and again you could accept it but we need to start finding some consistency from somewhere.
“We’re at the stage now where we need to win games, and we know we’ve got difficult games coming up in March.
“We know that, but I just need to see performances that might suggest that we can pick up more wins between now and the end of the season.”
