ByThe Courier Reporter
Police have today confirmed the identity of a body found in the sea off Angus last week.
The body of 59-year old Ian Low, from Montrose, was found in the sea off the coast near Auchmithie on September 5.
Mr Low had been reported as missing on August 2 and was the subject of a missing person inquiry.
His disappearance was followed by the revelation that the one-time resident of the Philippines and London was at the centre of an international criminal inquiry which The Courier understands concerned the alleged possession of
indecent images.
His flat was searched under warrant on the day he vanished.
A police spokesman said: “Mr Low’s family do not wish to make any further comments and have requested that their privacy is respected at this difficult time.
As with all sudden deaths a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.”
