Thousands of pounds worth of vandalism was inflicted on cars along a residential Dundee street in the early hours of New Year’s Day.
Vandals hit Newton Road in the city’s Kirkton area at around 1am on the first day of 2014 smashing the windows of six cars and a front door during the rampage.
Windscreens were broken on a red Vauxhall Astra, a red Fiat Doblo van, a silver Nissan Almera, a white Ford Focus and a Renault Laguna, as well as the rear window of a blue Volkswagen Passat.
Damage was also caused to the front door of a property on the street.
A police spokesman said the damage would run into thousands of pounds and officers are pursuing positive lines of inquiry.
He said residents reported hearing smashing noises in the area at around 12.45am and saw a man acting suspiciously.
The man police want to trace is described as being in his late teens or early twenties, six foot tall and of medium build with fair, closely shaved hair.
At the time he is said to have been wearing a pair of grey jogging bottoms and a grey top.
Anyone who may have been in the area, saw the man acting suspiciously or have information that could help identify him is being asked to contact police.
Officers can be contacted on 101 or details passed through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
