A Kirriemuir couple have appeared in private at Forfar Sheriff Court on a petition alleging contravention of the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
The separate appearances of John Towns, 45, and Elaine Towns, 38, both of Glamis Road, were understood to be in connection with an incident last week in which a two-year-old girl was injured.
They also appeared on petition alleging the supply of controlled drugs and Elaine Towns on a further allegation of possessing controlled drugs.
Neither accused made any plea or declaration and the case was continued for further examination. John Towns was remanded in custody and Elaine Towns was released on bail.
The young girl was taken to Ninewells after the incident on Glamis Road shortly before midday last Friday.
It is understood her injuries were not life-threatening.
