Teen threatens pensioner with weapon during attempted robbery in Dundee shop

Police have launched an investigation after a teenager attempted to rob a newsagent’s in Dundee.
The youth who is thought be aged about 16-17-years-old entered the store in the Hilltown at about 4.45pm on Wednesday, picked up an item and went to the counter apparently to pay for it.
He then threatened the 67-year-old woman who was working there with a weapon and demanded money but ran off after she refused.
The suspect, who spoke with a Dundee accent, is about five feet tall and of medium build. He has short, dirty blonde hair and at the time was wearing a plain green-coloured hooded top.
Officers are examing CCTV footage from the area and carrying out door-to-door enquiries as part of the investigation.
Police are urging anyone who was in the area at the time or has information that could be useful to their investigation to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer.
