With the trial event hailed a success, organisers say preparations for next year are already under way.
Bill Harvey, manager of Kirkcaldy4All, said: “We have already started planning and have held meetings to decide what we are going to do.
“We will obviously try and improve on this year but the feedback we got was very encouraging and ideally we would like to see the event adopted and included as part of the official Highland Games circuit.”
This year’s event was the first of its kind to be held in Scotland, with competitors taking to Kirkcaldy Sands at low tide.
Helped by the gorgeous August weather, the event attracted thousands to the town’s promenade, where stalls and events were also taking place.
