Pensioners accused of stealing boat from Montrose harbour
ByThe Courier Reporter
Two pensioners are facing a charge of stealing a boat and trailer from Montrose harbour.
Norman Hill, of West Mains of Ballindarg, Forfar, and James Burns, of Haldane Crescent, Dundee, both 69, are accused of taking the boat and trailer from the port’s north quay on September 24.
They are also alleged to have put false registration plates on a vehicle in an attempt to disguise the vehicle’s identity during the commission of the theft, and given false names to police at the harbour on the same date.
Neither accused was present at Forfar Sheriff Court and the matter was continued without plea until next month.
