Airdrie 2 Cowdenbeath 0: Kerr backs Cowden to bounce back

Fraser Kerr insists that Cowdenbeath are talented enough for a tilt at the top four despite seeing their promotion play-off push suffer a blow with this defeat.
A goal in each half from Marc Fitzpatrick and Jim Lister extended the fourth-placed Diamonds’ unbeaten league run to four games and pushed them nine points clear of the Fifers in eighth.
But central defender Kerr feels Cowdenbeath are still in the promotion play-off hunt with the team planning to get back on track at home to Albion Rovers on Tuesday night.
The 23-year-old said: “We have got a lot of talented players going forward. I’m sure if we play like this in the remaining games then we will win more than we will lose.
“It’s up to us to take the positives from this into the next game.
“I think there are four or five teams vying for that final play-off spot.
“You’d say that Dunfermline, Ayr and Peterhead are probably going to be in there.”
He added: “We’ve still got a couple of games in hand on most of the teams above us.”
