Phillip Roberts, 21, was arrested on warrant and brought from London to Dundee Sheriff Court on Tuesday. The former forward only played five times for Dundee FC before the club released him in August last year. In court he admitted his failure to appear for trial on October 22 but continues to deny to the assault charge. Roberts, 21, of Alloa Road, Ilford Essex, will return to Dundee for his trial on May 26. The charge is that on March 15 at Ward Road he seized a woman by her body and pushed her against a wall to her injury.
