The news all St Johnstone fans have been waiting for could be imminent – Alan Mannus is set to sign a contract extension.
There have been protracted discussions between the Perth club and the Northern Ireland keeper, and manager Tommy Wright had fresh developments to report yesterday.
He told Courier Sport: “We have had another discussion and we are hopeful Alan’s situation will be resolved over the next few days.”
Mannus is widely believed to be one of the best keepers in the Premiership, and has been for several seasons.
His contract is up in the summer and if he puts pen to paper on a fresh one, it will be a huge boost to Wright, who already has most of his senior men tied up.
