A company director spent a night in custody after his girlfriend secretly recorded him hurling foul-mouthed abuse at her for 44 minutes.
Wieslawa Walisiewicz later handed the recording into the police.
As a result, Peter Rocky Dunkley, 58, appeared from the cells at Perth Sheriff Court on Thursday and admitted behaving in a threatening and abusive manner in Ms Walisiewicz’s home in Wallace Court, Perth, on Monday.
Depute fiscal John Malpass said: “At 10 pm she was in with another friend, who is from Poland. The accused turned up at the door worse for drink and initially she refused entry to him.
“However, she then allowed him access. She is Polish and has a basic understanding of English, but she was aware the accused was being abusive. She had a voice recorder and recorded the entire incident, which lasted 44 minutes.”
Solicitor David Sinclair, defending, said Dunkley, of Viewfield Place, Perth, had been dumped by his victim as a result of his offensive, drunken behaviour and she had made her feelings clear on the matter.
Mr Sinclair said: “He is the director of a company which is not making any money. It is a research and development operation which he runs.”
Sheriff William Wood ordered Dunkley to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work.
