Dundee linked with league game against Celtic in the United States

Dundee’s American owners have been linked with an audacious move to play a Premiership game in the United States against Celtic.
It is believed the Dark Blues have opened talks with the SPFL about playing a match with the Hoops across the Atlantic next season.
It is understood that the league’s governing body have yet to receive a formal application to do so, and the SPFL would have to sanction a game outwith Scotland.
If that approval was granted and the game went ahead, it would be the first time a top-flight Scottish fixture had been played on foreign soil.
However, there are several obstacles to overcome before a game such as this could go ahead.
In 2008, the Football Association rejected a proposal from the English Premier League to play a match abroad. FIFA would also have to grant approval.
