Third time proved unlucky for Fife’s X Factor hopeful Jade Richards.
Tears flowed as the Buckhaven singer failed yet again to make it to the live shows. The 23-year-old’s legion of fans believed this series would be the one for the tattooed performer.
However, in tense and emotional scenes shown on STV on Sunday night, mentor Nicole Scherzinger sent her home after hearing her sing at her house in Antigua.
Instead, the former Pussycat Doll chose Abi Alton, from Kent, Tamera Foster of Kent and Hannah Barrett from London as her contenders for the the X Factor 2013 crown.
Last night’s episode echoed Jade’s departure in 2011. After making it to the judges’ houses round then, Kelly Rowland reluctantly sent her home following an audition in Miami.
Last year she dropped out at the bootcamp stage.
As she awaited Nicole’s decision on Sunday night’s show, Jade told the cameras: “I’ve had a no at the judges’ houses before and I know how horrible it feels, so the thought of that happening again is just unthinkable.”
After hearing the news she dreaded, she wiped away tears as she said: “I have to go home and say I wasn’t good enough again.”
Her departure leaves young Nicholas McDonald, 16, as the only Scots hopeful on the show.
