ByMark Mackay
Police in Dundee are hunting for a man who approached a young child in the city’s Kirkton area on Monday evening.
The man was the driver of a silver or grey-coloured Renault estate car involved in what officers described as a “suspicious incident”.
Police Scotland is currently interviewing a number of potential witnesses to the contact between adult and child.
The car, which had “distinctive” black roof bars, was seen in Derwent Avenue, Balgowan Place, Beauly Avenue and Helmsdale Avenue at around 7pm on Monday.
Its driver is described as being of heavy build, with dark hair and was wearing a light coloured top at the time.
He was in the company of at least one young child, who was a passenger in the back seat of the vehicle.
A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said officers were still working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and saw or heard anything that may assist officers in tracing this vehicle or the driver should contact Police Scotland on 101.
