A Perth man has been found dead in the River Tay hours after he was reported missing.
Police, an RAF rescue helicopter and fire and rescue personnel were involved in a “significant search” before Charles Cuthbert was found on Sunday. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police had issued an appeal for information on Sunday morning. Mr Cuthbert, who was 63, had last been seen at around 3.30pm on Saturday, when he left his home to go to the skip at Friarton.
A police spokesman said: “The death is still being treated as unexplained but there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.”
He added: “As is the case with all sudden deaths, a report of the circumstances is being submitted to the procurator discal.”
