A house in an affluent area of Dundee was wrecked after a teenage house party spiralled out of control.
As many as 100 youngsters attended the party at an address on Hamilton Street, Barnhill with four youngsters suffering injuries as the trouble spilled out on to the street.
Police were called to the house on several occasions, and images shared on social media show a bannister had been pulled from the staircase and destroyed.
Pictures also show the living-room covered with soil and broken pot plants, with pillows strewn across the floor.
There are also images of graffiti on the walls of the house, including the phrase “YMR”.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the damage and to an attack in the street in the early hours of Sunday that left three boys aged 17 and a girl aged 16 with what are understood to be non-serious injuries.
One neighbour, who did not want to be named, said: “There was a whole load of noise all Saturday night.
“It sounded like it was a bit out of control to be honest. I heard this morning it was the young girl and her parents were away and she had a party.
“I didn’t go out, I just stayed in my bed because it was late on.
“I saw police cars out of the window but I didn’t see how many were there.
“In the morning I went out with my dog and I saw one police car and it was still sitting outside the house.”
People on social media reacted to the pictures being shared.
One person tweeted: “How’s she gonna explain that to her old dear?” later adding: “The police don’t stand a chance in stopping that stomp.”
Another Twitter user said: “Surely that can no longer be referred to as a party?”
The owners of the house declined to comment.
A police spokesman said officers had been called to Hamilton Street on Saturday “a few times”.
He said: “It seems to have been a house party that got out of hand. Several units attended due to the disturbance and it appears that a property has been damaged as a result.
“We are carrying out inquiries into the damage sustained.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
* Police also confirmed a 19-year-old was charged in connection with an incident in Hamilton Street at about 1am on Sunday and was issued with a fixed penalty notice. It is understood the incident was not related to the assaults or vandalism.
