A Dundee woman was caught with £6,760 worth of heroin after police officers found her in a pub with a package of brown powder sticking out of her bra.
Valerie Malone, 53, of Elders Court, was remanded in custody after admitting supplying the Class A drug.
Dundee Sheriff Court heard police were called to Kelly’s Bar in Lochee at 10.20pm on December 14 to deal with a fight between Malone and another woman.
“When the police arrived it was observed that the accused’s upper clothing had been displaced,” fiscal depute Trina Sinclair said.
“Police officers noticed a polythene bag containing brown powder protruding from the accused’s cleavage. Believing the package contained controlled drugs, the police officers immediately recovered it.”
Malone was taken to police HQ and strip searched.
Officers recovered a £20 and £5 note from her bra, and later recovered two more packages from her as she lay in her cell.
The fiscal added: “The accused was monitored by the police officers lying on a cell mat covered by a blanket. The accused rolled over and police officers saw a package covered in plastic. A police officer recovered the package.
“The police officers then lifted the blanket and found another package lying between the accused’s legs.”
All three packages were examined forensically and found to contain heroin, with a total weight of 67.6g and a potential street value of £6,760. Malone was cautioned and charged.
Jim Caird, defending, told the court Malone had no previous convictions for similar behaviour.
He said: “Her position is that she was attacked and had her top ripped off her in the pub.”
Sheriff Richard Davidson said: “You have pled guilty today to being in possession of heroin with a street value of £6,760.
“Some 500 people die in Scotland as a consequence of drug use every year and most of that is from heroin use. That is what you are doing to people in Scotland all so you can make a profit.”
Sentence was deferred until December 10 for reports. Malone was remanded in custody.
