Daughter of aid worker David Haines ‘felt an instant sense of relief’ on hearing Jihadi John may be dead
ByJamie Buchan
The teenage daughter of murdered aid worker David Haines has spoken of her relief following reports that her father’s killer may finally be dead.
Bethany Haines, from Scone, near Perth, had previously said she would only feel closure when there was a bullet between the eyes of the executor known as Jihadi John.
In a statement to ITN this morning, Miss Haines said: “After seeing the news that ‘Jihadi John’ was killed I felt an instant sense of relief, knowing he wouldn’t appear in anymore horrific videos.”
She added: “He was only a pawn in Isis’s stupid game but knowing it’s over that he’s finally dead still hasn’t sunk in.
“As much as I wanted him dead I also wanted answers as to why he did it, why my dad, how did it make a difference?”
