School run traffic problems after ‘shed load’ of fish left on busy road

Drivers were forced to take evasive action when a “shed load” of fish cascaded across a busy A-road in Renfrewshire.

Several dozen fish were left lying on the A737 westbound at the Kilbarchan slip-road with drivers alerting road contractors around 4pm on Thursday.

The outside lane was closed while the shoal was cleared off at the section of the road.

A Traffic Scotland spokesman said the contractor, Scotland TranServ, was helping the clean-up operation and keeping the other lane on the road open.

The fish belonged to Billy Bowie Special Projects Limited, based at Moorfield Industrial Estate, Kilmarnock.
