Fife boat tragedy: Family pay tribute to victim Birrell Stewart

The family of Birrell Stewart who died on Monday after being found in the sea off the coast of East Wemyss have spoken of their devastation.
The thirty-year-old died after the 10-foot vessel he was in capsized near East Wemyss on Monday afternoon, while there has been no trace as yet of his friends David Stead, 47, and Jason Buchan, 35, who were also on board.
In a statement issued through police, they said: “Our whole family are devastated at the death of Birrell.
“He was a loving son, brother and dad. Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Jason Buchan and David Stead who are still missing.
“We would also like to thank all the emergency services who worked so hard to try and save his life.
“We would ask for privacy while we, as a family come to terms with our loss.”
