Dundee defender Darren O’Dea has had a scan on his injured groin.
The former Celtic man was withdrawn at half-time during Saturday’s draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
With manager Paul Hartley now waiting to be told what the scan has revealed, it would appear that the chances of O’Dea featuring against his old club at Parkhead tomorrow night are extremely remote.
And he could also be a doubt for Saturday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final with Rangers.
It would be a big blow to Hartley if he is without O’Dea for the Old Firm double header as the Irishman has made an impressive start to his Dark Blues’ career since arriving in January.
There was more positive news to report on fellow injured centre-back Thomas Konrad, though.
He is expected to resume training today after going over his ankle on Friday and failing a pre-match fitness test.
And Hartley was impressed by Julen Etxabeguren, who played the full 90 minutes against Caley Thistle, as well as O’Dea’s half-time replacement Kostadin Gadzhalov.
He said: “I thought the two centre-backs were terrific. Julen had a great game and Kosta showed up well also.”
