East Fife have confirmed that goalkeeper Michael Andrews has left the club and has signed for League Two outfit Berwick Rangers.
The 23-year-old, who played for Scotland at under-21 level, was one of a host of players signed by former manager Willie Aitchison during the summer but has moved to Shielfield on a full transfer until the end of the season after losing his starting slot.
Andrews, who has also played for Montrose and Brechin City, made seven appearances for the Methil club but has not featured since the 2-1 Scottish Cup defeat to Forfar back in November, with Greg Paterson getting the nod since then.
Meanwhile, 20-year-old striker Nathan Austin hopes to be fit to face Rangers on Saturday after going over on his ankle in the 1-0 win over Arbroath at the weekend.
The local lad scored his first senior goal for the Fifers in Saturday’s victory and would love to line up against the league leaders at Ibrox, having played half an hour against them in East Fife’s 5-0 defeat there at the end of August.
“I’ve been in and out of the team but it’s a big game on Saturday so hopefully I can stay fit and I’ll be available,” he said.
“It’s a great day and a great experience playing at Ibrox but obviously it’s a football game at the end of the day.”
Tickets for the game arrived at Bayview on Tuesday and are priced at £18 for adults, £14 for concessions and £6 for children.
