A man has been arrested in connection with a series of housebreakings in Fife.
Police have charged the 26-year-old after 26 thefts from garages and sheds in recent weeks in the Cardenden area.
Sergeant Kenny Bow said: “As part of Police Scotland’s aim to keep people safe, we devotted significant local resources into investigating these crimes.
“As a result of our enquiries we have charged a local man with 26 separate offences.
“We were aware of growing concern within the community regarding the recent rise in crime and asked local people to be patient while officers undertook enquiries.
“As the festive season approaches I would once again like to take the opportunity to remind the public to be on their guard and to look out for any suspicious activity, and to ensure that their homes, sheds, outbuildings and vehicles are secure – especially during the hours of darkness. We will continue to engage with the local communities and thank them in advance for their assistance.”
