Forfar boss Dick Campbell admits the amount of players missing through suspension and injury at the moment is “as bad as he can remember” since taking over at the club in 2008.
The veteran boss will have no less than seven players out this afternoon for the game at Station Park against Airdrie.
The Loons have not won since a 2-0 victory over Brechin back on September 12 and they suffered a disappointing defeat at home to the same opponents last week, a game that also saw Derek Young and Thomas O’Brien sent off.
However, Campbell is determined his side will triumph in adversity this afternoon to haul themselves back into the League One play-off positions.
He said: “It goes without saying that I was not happy with the result or the performance last week against Brechin.
“Once again we shot ourselves in the foot with the two red cards but we just didn’t play well enough to take anything out of the game.
“On the plus side, I thought Scott Martin did well on his debut after joining us on loan from Hibs and he looks some player.
“I also have to thank Aberdeen for letting Michael Rose come to us on loan this week.
“He will go straight into the squad for the Airdrie game as we are in desperate need of reinforcements.
“Derek Young, Thomas O’Brien and Kerr Hay are all suspended while Mark Baxter who hurt his hamstring last week is out along with other injury victims Michael Travis, Lewis Allan and Michael Dunlop.
“The situation is as bad as I can remember it in my time at Forfar and I will have to pack my bench with kids.
“However, we will just have to get on with it.
“We are still positive a win over Airdrie would take us back up into the play-off spot.”
