Former St Johnstone striker fined and banned from the road

A former St Johnstone footballer has been fined £400 at Perth Sheriff Court for driving through a red light while using a mobile phone.
The court heard there was some dubiety concerning the number of penalty points Rowan Vine, 30, below, of Mathieson Drive, Perth, had on his driving licence.
Vine’s solicitor, John McLaughlin, said his client agreed to two previous driving bans one for 20 days, the other for 28 days. He told the court part of the problem was due to his client moving around so much he didn’t receive all his mail.
Vine, who signed for Hibs in July, admitted that on February 1 on Dunkeld Road at its junction with St Catherine’s Road, Perth, he drove while holding a hand-held mobile phone.
He also pleaded guilty to failing to comply with a red light at the same location during his appearance on Wednesday.
Sheriff Lindsay Foulis fined Vine £400 and banned him from driving for two months.
