Ho ho ho! Arbroath lifeboat crew branches out for Christmas tree rescue
ByThe Courier Reporter
Arbroath lifeboat was launched at 11am on Monday after receiving reports of a body spotted in the water at the cliffs.
The crew raced to the scene only to discover that was supposedly a body was, in fact, a discarded Christmas tree.
Nevertheless, the crew fished the tree from the water and posed for the above photo.
The image was posted on Facebook on Wednesday morning along with the message: “We were launched just before 11am yesterday to reports of someone in the water at the Arbroath cliffs.
“Once on scene it was discovered that it was a discarded Christmas tree.”
Susan Howell responded: “How is it possible to mistake a Christmas tree for a person?…. But job well done as always.”
Meanwhile Jason McCagh added: “I thought someone would have twigged.”
