A derelict piece of land which has long been an eyesore for residents of Broughty Ferry is up for sale.
The land, which lies next to the Bruach Bar on Brook Street, had for several years been home to a number of cars that appeared to have been abandoned.
These vehicles were recently removed after signs were put up warning that parking was prohibited on the site.
In 2014, the plot was subject to plans by property developer Michael Johnston for an eight-storey apartment block, each floor named after one of the eight men killed in the Broughty Ferry lifeboat disaster.
But Mr Johnston sadly passed away shortly after the plans were unveiled.
Managing estate agent RSB Lindsays has received several notes of interest but no formal offers have yet been made for the land.
Local residents have welcomed the news the site could be developed.
Student Darren Carver, 24, said: “I think houses or flats would be the best thing for it. Getting more housing in the Ferry is definitely needed.”
Alice Stewart, 60, said: “I would really like to see a garden of some sort.
“Why do we always have to build? I like what they have done in some areas of Dundee, where instead of just filling land with more buildings, they have created some green areas and it really brightens the place up.”
Evelyn Thomson, 65, was not opposed to a new building but would like to see the land become host to something useful for the community.
She said: “It would be great to have a shop or a dentist.”
