Roadworks are progressing well in Cupar town centre and making much-needed improvements to the area, according to Fife Council.
The next phase of works will involve closing the Bonnygate from Tuesday January 7 for four weeks. This is to allow safe working zones while the footpath surfaces and road carriageway are upgraded.
Eastbound traffic will be diverted via Lady Wynd and East Burnside. Local westbound traffic will be diverted via Station Road, South Bridge, Millgate, Blalowan Park, Maitland Drive and Westfield Avenue. Through westbound traffic will be diverted via Station Road and the A914.
A number of one-way and parking restrictions will be in place to ensure the traffic keeps moving and there will be an increased traffic warden presence.
Drivers are being advised that all these dates are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances such as poor weather or works progressing ahead of schedule.
Bus services will be diverted during the road closures. For more information on the bus services affected contact Stagecoach on 01383 621249. Information is also available in the local office and library.
Access for the emergency services will be maintained at all times and Fife Council has apologised for any inconvenience and the resulting delays caused by the works.
