Festival of House under attack from Panmure residents over emergency access arrangements
ByGraham Brown
Organisers of a major summer Angus dance festival are back under fire over ignoring residents’ fears about blue-light access during the three-day event.
People living near the Panmure estate Festival of House site near Carnoustie claim the organisers are now seeking online support for the June electronic dance music extravaganza in a “charm offensive” after Angus licensing board heavily criticised preparations for the event last month.
Special meetings will now be held on April 29 to consider the crucial public entertainment and alcohol licences for the June 9 to 11 festival.
But angry neighbours have accused Festival of House of discourtesy after their failure to confirm arrangements for emergency access of services such as fire and rescue to their homes near the main arena and campsite.
FoH have expressed confidence they will have all the necessary arrangements in place ahead of the special meetings to ensure the festival set to draw 15,000 dance music fans to Angus goes ahead safely.
