Such dramatic successes can’t be guaranteed, but at least the dream can come a bit closer thanks to a huge charity auction being held by the Archie Foundation.

The Tayside Children’s Hospital Appeal is set to hold its gala dinner this Friday night and, ahead of the big event, some amazing auction lots are up for grabs.

Luxury experience days, including trips to the races, glamping breaks and signed sports items are among the star lots.

Gear from Dundee United, Dundee and the Scottish Rugby Union are also on offer.

For those with more lofty aspirations, a private box at Ascot for 12 may appeal.
