Police in North East Fife are urging farmers employees and members of the community to be extra vigilant and report any suspicious activity after two separate incidents at farms.
Officers in Cupar are dealing with a theft at Burnside Of Cassendilly Farm, by Cupar, where a red Honda quad bike was stolen.
A further incident took place at Seggie Farm Cottage, Guardbridge, where thieves overcame security to a bowser and stole a large quantity of red diesel.
Both offences occurred some time between 4pm on Monday and 8am the next day, when the thefts were discovered.
Police Scotland have instigated inquiries into these crimes and the possibility that they are linked.
Sightings of vehicles or people acting suspiciously at farms or isolated premises should be reported immediately to the police to allow checks on the individuals concerned.
In addition, any information regarding the disposal of the stolen property is sought and would be treated in the strictest confidence.
