Former Manchester United legend Roy Keane has been turning heads in St Andrews today.
Keane, who also played for Nottingham Forest and Celtic and is currently assistant manager of the Republic of Ireland, was spotted in Market Street on Thursday morning.
Although renowned for his combative playing style, the Irishman displayed a more compassionate side on his trip to the Home of Golf.
Posting on the Overheard in St Andrews Facebook page, Matthew Litherland wrote: “Overseen (not a spoof): Roy Keane on Market Street, stopping to give money to the Big Issue lady outside Tesco.”
But not everyone who encountered Keane saw his softer side.
Twitter user Tom Rawson Grant posted this:
Bumped into Roy Keane on the high street in St. Andrews, bloke has got a permanent scowl on his face.
