Teenager who punched guiser given chance to prove she can behave

A teenager who punched a guiser in the face in a late-night Halloween attack before making off with his sweets has been given a chance to reform.
Kimberly Murray, 16, attacked the 11-year-old as he walked down a dark alley in Blairgowrie with a group of friends on October 31 last year.
She tried to grab the shocked youngster’s pumpkin-shaped treat bucket and assaulted him when he resisted.
Murray had denied robbing the child, claiming she had mistaken her victim for her cousin and was “pranking him”.
Murray returned to court on Monday but had sentence deferred further until January 27 to enable her to take part in the Right Track programme, which works with young offenders.
