Angus Council probe after memory stick containing pupils’ details is found by walker

A council investigation is underway after a memory stick containing sensitive information about pupils in several Angus schools was found on a hillside.
The portable storage device contained progress and end of year reports for more than 20 children. The information on the USB stick was not encrypted.
A dog walker made the discovery on Kirrie Hill on Tuesday evening.
The man immediately alerted Angus Council handed it into Kirriemuir Access office yesterday morning.
An Angus Council spokesperson said the matter was being investigated “as a matter of priority”.
