Firefighters cut driver free from car after crash near Coupar Angus

A motorist had to be cut free from his car by firefighters after a crash near Coupar Angus this morning.
The 49-year-old lost control of his vehicle on the A923 near Tullybarccart, and careered off the road and through a hedge.
The car, a blue Peugeot 306, ended up on its side.
Emergency services were called to the accident just after 10am.
A fire service spokesman said that the motorist, from Blairgowrie, was freed from his car using hydraulic cutting gear. He was checked out at the scene by paramedics, but was not thought to have been seriously injured.
Two other passengers in the car also suffered minor injuries and were taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee.
The crash happened during heavy rain.
