St Andrews chef hopes to make the cut in MasterChef: the Professionals
ByThe Courier Reporter
A St Andrews chef returns to TV screens as MasterChef: the Professionals reaches boiling point.
Scott Davies, 27, head chef at the Adamson, is down to the final eight chefs remaining after reaching the semi-finals. His MasterChef future now depends on his ability to serve up one show-stopping dish to impress judge Gregg Wallace.
After tasting their food, Wallace will decide which two chefs will leave the competition. Scott has previously used dishes such as roasted loin of lamb with ravioli, followed by rum custard, to wow the judges.
He said: “I never expected to get this far. My goal in the competition was always to try and get to the semi-final.
“I was competing against a couple of really good chefs in the previous rounds but I think they made a couple of mistakes so I was able to get through. It’s been really exciting to compete in the show.”
Scott has worked at several top Scottish restaurants and spent a year in Australia. He had three rosettes by the age of 26.
The show airs on Monday night at 8.30pm on BBC Two.
