The loving touch care homes organise special Valentine’s date for 61-years-married Perthshire couple

Love knows no bounds for a dedicated Perthshire couple.
After 61 years of marriage, Peter and Esme Sauvary still enjoy regular romantic meals together.
Although the husband and wife now live in separate residential homes in Luncarty due to their different care needs, they are determined to keep the magic alive.
Three days a week, Mr Sauvary travels from Glenhelenbank Care Home to Balhousie Luncarty Care Home to see his beloved.
However, with it being Valentine’s Day, he arranged an extra-special surprise for Mrs Sauvary on his Friday visit.
Armed with a traditional red rose, the charming chap unveiled a table for two for a candlelit lunch.
Balhousie Luncarty Care Home manager Tracy McEwan said: “We organise a taxi to pick Mr Sauvary up every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
“They get the dining room to themselves and it’s as if they are going out for a nice meal.
“We want to keep that link going between them and try to keep them together.
“It’s special every day for them, but because it was Valentine’s Day we wanted to make it really special.”
