Fife Flyers have led the tributes to club legend Harold ‘Pep’ Young, who has died at the age of 86.
The Montreal born player joined the Fife ice hockey club in the 1950s and married three times Scottish figure skating champion Sheena Balfour soon after his arrival in Scotland.
He went on to become one of the legends of the club, remaining a familiar face to ice hockey fans in Fife and beyond ever since.
A Flyers spokesman said: “Pep spent 30 years playing, and coaching, the Flyers and had a massive impact keeping Fife Flyers in competitive hockey during some very difficult times in the 1960s as well as going on to introduce Flyers junior development programme.

“Pep has been a regular around Fife Ice Arena, and the Flyers dressing room up until his passing.
“Our condolences are with Pep’s friends and families at this sad time.”
Fans have been paying their own tributes to a player who played a huge part in establishing the sport in Scotland.
Fife Flyers will pay tribute to Pep at their next home match, against Dundee Stars, on February 9.
