Police are following up what has been described as a “positive lead” in relation to missing Fife man Allan Bryant, according to his father.
The 23-year-old has not been seen since leaving Styx nightclub in Glenrothes in the early hours of Sunday November 3 2013, although Mr Bryant Snr hopes new information passed on to him will help finally uncover the truth behind his son’s disappearance.
Mr Bryant Snr said he could not go into detail about the nature of the information received but said police were taking the new line of inquiry seriously.
“We’re really hoping something comes out of this,” he told The Courier.
“There’s not a lot we can say at the moment but police have taken a huge interest in this information.
“They’ve apparently drafted more detectives in and came to take more statements during the week, so we can only sit back and see where this lead takes us.”
Police have insisted throughout the missing person investigation that the answers lie in the community, and a Facebook page set up to help find Mr Bryant Jnr has nearly 70,000 members.
Various leads have been followed up by officers working the case in the past to no avail, but Police Scotland has said that any new information received as part of the investigation is “assessed and investigated properly”.
