A man is to stand trial accused of attempting to steal copper cable from a Perthshire farm.
Patrick Kelly, of Baird Drive, Kilsyth, pleaded not guilty when he appeared at Perth Sheriff Court accused of committing the theft at Old A9 at Chapelbank Farm, Blackford.
Kelly, 46, was said to have committed the theft on various occasions between August 17 and December 9 2014.
He is accused of stealing a quantity of telecommunication cable and smashing open manhole covers to gain access to copper cabling beneath, and attempting to steal it.
He also denied that on August 18 2014 at Clattering Farm, Braco, he damaged property belonging to BT Open Reach by burning plastic sheathing on telecommunications cables.
A further charge alleges that on December 9 2014 at Chapelbank Farm, Blackford, he possessed cable machinery, insulated clothing and a rucksack containing tools that indicated he intended to or had committed theft.
Kelly is accused of being unable to show that his possession of the tools was not for the purposes of committing theft.
It is claimed he committed the offence while on bail, having been granted bail on October 4 2014 at Stirling Sheriff Court.
An intermediate diet was set for May 19 and a trial date was scheduled for June 20.
Sheriff Donald Ferguson released Kelly on bail.
