A cyclist is in a serious condition following a road collision in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The collision, with a silver Vauxhall Corsa, took place at 4.40am on the A92 at Freuchie, just metres away from a series of accidents last week.
The cyclist has been taken to the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy for treatment.
The road was closed in both directions for several hours while police investigated the scene, by the Bridgend Services.
It has now reopened to traffic.
The female driver of the car was uninjured.
Police are keen to trace the driver of a lorry travelling southbound at the time of the collision, although they do not believe that he was involved in the incident.
Anybody with information is being asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
