Fire crews were called out to the fire on Westwood Avenue at 1.57am. The discovered a ground-floor flat well ablaze and firefighers wearing breathing apparatus used a hosereel to douse the flames. One residents of the block of four flats was taken to hospital following the incident while one dog also died in the blaze.
