Five-a-side football games were cancelled and thousands of pounds worth of damage was caused after a set of goalposts was set on fire.
Staff at Soccerworld Dundee on Old Glamis Road believe the centre was targeted by vandals.
One of the sets of goalposts was set on fire, with the flames burning through the net and into a portion of the turf forcing several games to be cancelled.
General manager Greg Keir said the damage is estimated to have cost nearly £2,000.
He said: “I’m not too sure how the fire started, but I think it is a case of kids vandalising the football centre.
“We have checked the CCTV but nothing has been picked up.
“I think they’ve set the goal on fire and the net has burnt through into the turf.”
Mr Keir said he believed the posts were set on fire over the weekend, but the damage was not discovered until later.
He added: “We didn’t notice it until this week, so it is difficult to pinpoint when it actually took place.
“As a result, we had to cancel five-a-side games. We also run free educational sessions for kids, so they have missed out as a result of this.
“The goal which was set alight is in the back corner of Soccerworld and kids used to burst through the cable that is behind the netting to get in and play.
“Eventually we decided to unlock it at weekends so the kids could get in for free in the hope our generosity would make people less inclined to want to damage the property.
“But that now seems to have had a detrimental effect. It’s frustrating that we have nothing to go on in terms of finding out who was responsible.”
